体坛英语新闻:German side Werder Bremen appoint Robin Dutt as new coach
BERLIN, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Werder Bremen confirmed Robin Dutt as their new coach until 2016, the club announced on its official homepage on Monday.
The 48-year-old Robin Dutt was released from his duties as DFB (German Soccer Federation) director of sports to join struggling Bundesliga side Werder Bremen as the successor of Thomas Schaaf, who was sacked one day before the end of the season after 14 years of cooperation.
The former Freiburg and Leverkusen coach Robin Dutt was the desired candidate of Bremen but due to his running contract with the DFB the club had to wait for release until today.
Thus the 48-year-old coach put a pen to paper on a three-year deal to help the "Green-Whites" to recover from a disappointing season.
"With Robin Dutt we have our desired candidate for the coaching job. We are convinced that we will be able to manage a new start with him in charge. We would like to thank the DFB that made the switch possible with the release of Dutt," Bremen manager Thomas Eichin said in an official statement.
"I am very pleased to return to the sidelines. Bremen is a great club and a very appealing task which I will approach with vigour," Dutt said.
Dutt already coached Freiburg from 2007 until 2011 to lead the club into first division. Thereafter he joined Leverkusen where he was sacked after following poor performances in April 2012 to join the DFB in August 2012.
