ROME, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Fiorentina confirmed on Wednesday that they have completed a deal with Malaga about the transfer of winger Joaquin Sanchez.

"ACF Fiorentina and Malaga CF announce they have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Joaquin Sanchez Rodriguez," read the statement released by Fiorentina.

The 31-year-old Spanish international flew to Florence on Wednesday to have a medical and final talks over his contract.

The player has not signed the contract with Fiorentina, but it' s believed there are only details away from completion.

Joaquin made 45 appearances for Malaga this season, scoring eight goals in the Liga, Champions League and Copa del Rey. He also has 56 caps for Spain in his career.
