RIO DE JANEIRO, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Brazil international midfielder Bernard is close to signing a deal with English Premier League club Arsenal, Brazilian media reported on Monday.

The Gunners and Brazilian outfit Atletico Mineiro have agreed to terms over the 20-year-old, who will fly to London for a medical on Thursday, O Globo reported.

It is understood Arsenal will pay 20 million pounds for the transfer while accepting Bernard's four million pound-a-year wage demand.

Bernard has won five international caps for Brazil and was a member of the Selecao's triumphant Confederations Cup campaign last month.

He has also reportedly attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Chelsea.
