体坛英语新闻：Real Madrid starlet Jese agrees new 4-year deal

MADRID, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid have confirmed that young midfielder Jese Rodriguez signed a four-year contract on Wednesday to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The news means that the club has assured that the product of their youth system, who is considered to be one of the most exciting young players in Spain, will not be moving anywhere this summer and put an end to rumors that to speculation that he could be sold, with Tottenham Hotspurs especially keen on the player.

Last season saw Jese score 22 goals for Real Madrid's B-team, which plays in the Spanish second division, beating the previous record which was held by legendary striker Emilio Butragueno.

He made his league debut for the first team in 2011 and has played for the Spanish national side at all levels from Under-16 to Under-20, whom he represented in this summer's Under-20 World Cup.

Jese will almost certainly form part of the first team squad this season, although there is a chance he could spend the season on loan at another BBVA Primera Liga club in order to gain more top-flight experience.

Meanwhile as Jese assures his future with Real Madrid, striker Gonzalo Higuain is on the verge of concluding a move to Napoli after being left out of the Madrid squad that to play a friendly game in Lyon in order to travel to Italy to undergo medical tests with the Italian club.

Elsewhere Atletico Madrid have signed young Uruguayan central defender Jose Maria Gimenez, while goalkeeper, Sergio Asenjo has moved to recently promoted Villarreal with Zaragoza keeper Roberto Jimenez lined up to return to Atletico as his replacement.

Espanyol are close to strengthening their attack with the arrival of 22 year-old Brazilian striker, Samuel, who is expected to sign a three or four-year contact and Granada have reached agreement to take Greek goalkeeper, Osteris Karnezis on loan from Italian side Udinese for a year.
