体坛英语新闻：Saprisa wins Costa Rica's 2013 Cup Tournament

SAN JOSE, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Deportivo Saprissa on Sunday defeated Carmelita in penalties to win the Costa Rica's First Division 2013 Cup Tournament, local media reported.

The match was played in "Estadio Nacional" stadium, in western San Jose, where Saprissa and Carmelita did not score in the regular time as well as in the extra time, and went into the penalty shootout to decide the championship.

The first half was very uneven for both teams. Saprissa was reduced to 10 men after forward David Ramirez received the marching order at minute 10, while Carmelita's player Mario Camacho was also expelled at minute 22.

In the second half, Carmelita created better chances against the goal of Donny Grant.

The match ended at a goalless draw and in extra time Saprissa attacked the most, but still could not scored.

In the penalty shootout, goalkeeper Grant was Saprissa's hero, stopping two shots from Carmelita, while his teammates scored all the goals to win the first trophy in the Costa Rican soccer season.

In the award ceremony, Grant was elected as the player of the tournament, while the second division team Jaco Rays was elected as the "revelation" team for reaching semifinals.
