体坛英语新闻:Russia keeps lead in Junior World Wrestling Championships
SOFIA, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Russia kept its lead in the Greco-Roman style and men freestyle wrestling at the 2013 Junior World Wrestling Championships that ended on Sunday.
In the Greco-Roman event, the Russians bagged four golds, one silver and one bronze medals, followed by Azerbaijan with one silver and three bronzes, Iran with one gold, one silver and one bronze medals.
The Russian men freestyle wrestlers snatched three golds, one silver and two bronzes, followed by Iran and Azerbaijan as second and third in the final standings.
In the women's freestyle event, Japan led the final rankings with three golds and two bronzes, followed by Russia and Mongolia. Chinese wrestler Xu Rui took a bronze medal in the women's 72-kilogram freestyle event on Aug. 16.
The 2013 Junior World Wrestling Championships was held at the Arena Armeec Hall in Sofia from Aug. 13 to Aug. 18, which brought together over 600 athletes from 62 countries and regions.
