体坛英语新闻：Hamburg's Dennis Aogo joins Schalke on loan

BERLIN, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Schalke signed Dennis Aogo from Bundesliga rivals Hamburg on loan until June 2014, both clubs made it public on Thursday.

From now on German international, and former Hamburg defender Dennis Aogo will wear the jersey of the "Royal Blues" on a one-year deal on loan.

"Dennis will help us with his versatility. He will increase the variation in our squad," Schalke's sporting director Horst Held said.

"Schalke is a new challenge for me, especially because the club plays in the UEFA Champions League. I will give everything to help the team," Aogo said. The 26-year-old new arrival received the jersey No. 15.

Schalke's new arrival started his professional career in Freiburg, where he played from 2005 until 2008 to make 11 goals in 94 matches. In 2008 he joined Hamburg to play five years for the "Rothosen".

During his time in Hamburg, Aogo made 131 matches scoring two goals. Furthermore, he is part of the German national soccer team since 2010, completing 12 caps.
