体坛英语新闻:Russian wins Telavi Open tennis title in Georgia
TELAVI, Georgia, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Alexanra Panova from Russia on Sunday defeated her compatriot Victoria Kan in straight sets to take the Telavi Open tennis women's singles title.
The WTA 177th-ranked Russian, ranked second in Telavi, won the championship match 7-5, 6-1.
Alexandra Panova advanced into the final by beating Ukraine's Ganna Poznikhirenko 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 in the semi-finals.
Victoria Kan in the semis downed Andreea Mitu from Romania, top-ranked in Telavi, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.
In the women's doubles, Maria-Elena Camerin of Italy and Anja Prislan from Slovenia defeated Anna Zaja of Germany and Masa Zec-Peskiric of Slovenia 7-5, 6-2 to win the final on Sunday.
The 2013 Telavi Open has just women's singles and doubles at stake.
