体坛英语新闻:Golden State extend contract with Australian center Bogut
WASHINGTON, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Golden State Warriors announced on Twitter to have extended the contract with Australian center Andrew Bogut on Friday, one day after the preseason ended.
"OFFICIAL: The Warriors have signed center Andrew Bogut to a multi-year contract extension," tweeted the NBA club.
The three-year deal is reported to be worth 36 million U.S. dollars, with incentives that could raise its value to 42 million, according to USA Today.
That would require the 28-year-old top overall pick in 2005 NBA draft to play at least 65 games in each of the three seasons covered and reach certain performance levels, the newspaper said.
The oft-injured Bogut, whose contract was set to expire after this season, missed a total of 107 games over the past two seasons as he battled injuries to his elbow, wrist and ankle.
