体坛英语新闻:Messi forecasts favorite teams to win Brazil 2014 World Cup
BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Argentine football star Lionel Messi on Friday said his favorite teams to win the 2014 Brazil World Cup are Germany, Brazil, Spain, France and Argentina.
"Germany, Brazil, Spain, France and us also," said the Barcelona forward during an interview with Buenos Aires' radio station La Metro in Spain, when he was asked on his favorite teams to win the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
Messi, winner of the Golden Shoe as the maximum scorer in the European football, said he is confident that he will recover of the muscle injury to "come back in good shape" in January, adding he will travel to Argentina for the last part of his rehabilitation.
He was injured on Nov. 10 in a match between Barcelona and Betis, during which he tore his right-leg femoral biceps and had to leave the tournament for six to eight weeks.
This week Messi received his third Golden Shoe. He said he "more than anybody" wants to win the 2014 World Cup.
Messi also told La Metro that he was in pain for being criticized by some fans in Argentina, who question his performance in the national soccer team, saying that "they did not love me".
