BERLIN, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- German side Dortmund wrapped up crucial three points against Napoli at outsold Signal Iduna Park in UEFA Champions League group F on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund maintained their hopes to remain in Europe's top-flight competition with a win over Napoli as Marco Reus, Jakub Blaszczykowski and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang helped the club in an all-or-nothing clash.

The Germans caught a perfect start on home soil as referee Carlos Velasco Carballo pointed to the spot following a foul play by Federico Fernandez to Robert Lewandowski. His teammate Marco Reus stepped up to convert the penalty into the bottom right corner, sending Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina into the opposite corner with just ten minutes on the clock.

The BVB set the tone and launched their offence producing scoring opportunities through Marco Reus, Henrik Mkhitaryan and Robert Lewandowski to keep Napoli's defence in motion.

However, Napoli's Jose Callejon nearly flabbergasted the hosts with the equalizer but his single-handed effort was denied by the inside of the far post at the 29th minute.

With the restart Napoli tried to pry the reins out of Dortmund's hands, yet the visitors were unable to profit from, as the hosts remained dangerous on the counter. One of those counter attacks were successfully finished by Jakub Blaszczykowski at the 60th minute. The Polish international utilized Reus' pass into path to beat onrushing Reina one on one for the 2-0 lead.

Despite Dortmund's double strike Napoli reduced the arrears just eleven minutes later, when substitute Lorenzo Insigne made it 2-1, five minutes after his fielding.

Napoli pilled on the pressure, knowing that they could restore parity. But, the BVB destroyed all hopes of comeback as joker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, who was fielded ten minutes earlier, restored the two-goal lead to kill the game at the 78th minute.

Thus, Juergen Klopp's men sit on second position in group F, behind Arsenal, followed by Napoli and Marseille.

"We richly deserved the win although Napoli was a tough opponent," Klopp stated.
