LONDON, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Ross Brawn will step down from the role as the principal of Mercedes F1 team, the team announced on Thursday.
According to a statement, Brawn will hand over leadership to Toto Wolff as business director, and Paddy Lowe, as technical director.
"The most important consideration in my decision to step down from the role as team principal was to ensure that the timing was right for the team in order to ensure its future success," Brawn said.
The 59-year-old Briton won five consecutive drivers' titles with Michael Schumacher at Ferrari.
