体坛英语新闻:Myanmar appoints Serbian coach for national football team

YANGON, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) has appointed a new Serbian coach for national football team, according to MFF Friday.

Rodojko Avramovic, who had coached Singapore national team for 11 years, was hired as head coach of Myanmar's national team for one-and-a-half year.

Both sides signed the contract in Yangon on Feb.5.

MFF also named Milovan Cirkovic as assistant coach and Dincec Predrag goalkeeper coach Dino.

"I know Myanmar people love football very much. It is easy to win a soccer match but difficult to be a champion," Avramovic said, "I am proud that I can be a part of role in promoting Myanmar football sports."

Avramovic, a Serbian former goalkeeper and manager, worked as the head coach of the Singapore national team from 2003 to 2013. He led Singapore to the finals of 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup and Tiger Cup.

Meanwhile, U Zaw Zaw fired South Korean head coach after Myanmar failed to qualify for the semifinals at the 27th South East Asian Games hosted by Myanmar for the first time in more than 40 years.
