体坛英语新闻：Napoli beat Roma to reach Coppa Italia final

ROME, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Napoli reached the Coppa Italia final after beating 10-man Roma 3-0 in the second leg of their semi-final on Wednesday.

Rafa Benitez's side, who lost to Roma 3-2 in the first leg, turned the table about thanks to goals from Jose Callejon, Gonzalo Higuain and January signing Jorginho.

Roma head coach Rudi Garcia admitted his side made mistakes in both legs.

"Perhaps we lost the qualification in the first leg, as we conceded two goals when we were 2-0 up," Garcia told the post-match press conference.

He felt sad to see his players squandered chances before the break.

"This evening we had three chances to score in the first half and didn't make the most of them. We should've been more ruthless in attack and also in defence, as we made mistakes in both legs," he said.

His Napoli counterpart Benitez praised his side as "almost perfect".

"It wasn't the perfect performance, but it was almost perfect," Benitez told the post-match press conference.

"Everyone worked in the defensive phase and then we were able to score three great goals," he said.

Callejon headed in the opener in the 33rd minute as Napoli - who have won the tournament on four occasions, most recently in 2012 - took the lead on away goals.

And strikes in the first six minutes of the second half from Higuain and Jorginho sealed the result as Napoli won in front of club legend Diego Maradona.

Mattia Destro almost gave Roma the lead in the third minute from Adem Ljajic's cut-back, but Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina was equal to the task and made a great save from point-blank range.

In a quiet first half, Gervinho had an effort blocked while Ljajic shot over, but just as Roma began to take control, Napoli claimed the lead.

Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman got his marching order at the 79th minute for fouling Callejon.
