BERLIN, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Wolfsburg came from behind to stun Berlin 2-1 while Nuremberg secured three vital points in relegation battle to close the 21st round of Bundesliga on Sunday.

Wolfsburg approach the international business as the Wolves climbed into the top six following a 2-1-comeback victory on the road over Berlin.

Berlin took the reins from the kick off meanwhile Wolfsburg were unable to establish their rhythm. Thus Hertha Berlin broke the deadlock on 21 minutes as Per Skjelbred overcame goalkeeper Diego Benaglio with a follow-up shot into the bottom left from the edge of the box.

The deficit was a wakening call for the visitors who tried to restore parity through Ivan Persic but Berlin's custodian Thomas Kraft denied the equalizer. Berlin continued to work out opportunities but neither Adrian Ramos nor Sami Allagui were able to double the lead before the break.

However, Robin Knoche punished Berlin's wastefulness in the 58th minute when he headed home Ricardo Rodriguez's corner for the equalizer.

Things changed from bad to worse for the hosts as Wolfsburg's Daniel Caligiuri completed the 2-1 victory with a hammer from 17 meters into the top left corner.

Wolfsburg jump from 6th to 5th place with 36 points whilst Berlin slip from 7th to 8th place with 31 points.

"We were very clumsy in the first half. After the equalizer we gained a foothold into the match," Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking said.

Elsewhere, Nuremberg brought Augsburg's eight-match unbeaten run as Josip Drmic scored the only goal of the match. Nuremberg climb from a relegation play off spot on 14th position whereas Augsburg slum from 8th to 9th position with 31 points.

"After the lead we only defended but we fought like never before," Nuremberg coach Gertjan Verbeek said.
