BERLIN, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Leverkusen stopped their negative run with a 3-1 win over Augsburg meanwhile Josip Drmic earned Nuremberg a 2-0 triumph over Stuttgart to close the 27th round of the German Bundesliga on Wednesday.

Bayer Leverkusen cut off their negative run of nine winless matches as Sami Hyypiae's men staged a clinical performance against wasteful Augsburg.

The "Werkself" had some problems to gain a foothold into the match but with eleven minutes into the game Stefan Kiessling scored his 13th goal of the season to shock active Augsburg.

With the neat lead behind Leverkusen retracted and defended deep allowing the courageous hosts to restore parity when Tobias Werner headed home the equalizer following a cross by Ronny Philp at the 59th minute.

After the leveller both sides lurked for the winner but a blackout by Augsburg's goalkeeper Marwin Hitz facilitated Heung Min Son to slot home into the near post from sharp angle ten minutes before the final whistle.

Augsburg pressed frenetically for the equalizer but this time Leverkusen worked out a successful counter, which was completed by Emre Can, who marked the 3-1 final score at the 83rd minute.

The win let Leverkusen on fourth position with 47 points while Augsburg sit on 8th position with 39 points.

Nuremberg reaped vital points at their relegation battle thanks to a 2-0 win over Stuttgart. Strike Josip Drmic has large shares on the victory as he donated a brace to ensure the first win after four straight defeats. Meanwhile Stuttgart slumped into the danger zone after they suffered their 15th loss of the season.

Stuttgart caught the better start but it were the hosts that opened the scoring at the 43rd minute through Drmic, who scored after a combination via Hiroshi Kiyotake.

The visitors tried to respond to Nuremberg's lead but it were again Gertjan Verbeek's men who doubled the lead by courtesy of Drmic, killing the game nine minutes into the second half.

Nuremberg climb out of the drop zone as they move on 14th position whilst Stuttgart slump on second last position of the table.

Hoffenheim wrap up their second triumph in row after a 3-1 comeback win over 10-men Hannover.

The visitors broke the deadlock through Leon Andreasen who poked home a cross by Lars Stindl at the 10th minute. Hoffenheim responded three minutes later when Eugen Polanski capitalized on a failed clearance attempt to mark the leveller into the bottom right.

As the match progressed Hoffenheim took the reins and that is how it came that Anthony Modeste secured the 2-1 lead, six minutes after the restart.

Hannover's Manuel Schmiedebach weakened his side as he was sent off with a straight red card owing to a rude foul play at the 76th minute. The hosts made use of their advantage and rounded off their 3-1 win with a goal by Sebastian Rudy, who capitalized on a moment of madness by Hannover goalkeeper Ron Robert Zieler in the dying minutes of the game.

Hoffenheim occupy 10th place whereas Hannover slip from 11th to 12th position.

Elsewhere, Frankfurt edged Monchengladbach 1-0 thanks to the first-half goal by Joselu and Hamburg and Freiburg shared points following a 1-1 draw.
