体坛英语新闻:HK-owned Amber Sky wins race at Dubai World Cup with best time
DUBAI, March 29 (Xinhua) -- At the 19th Dubai World Cup, the richest horse race in the world, thoroughbred Amber Sky from Australia and owned by Hung Kam Po from Hong Kong, China won the 1000 meter long turf race Al Quoz Sprint in 56.23 seconds, topping the old best time by 0.18 seconds.
With the victory, Amber Sky, ridden by jockey Joao Moreira and trained by Ricky Yiu from Hong Kong, China cashed in 600,000 dollars worth prize money sponsored by Abu Dhabi-based IPIC (international petroleum investment company).
Aber Sky crossed the finishing line at 7.05 pm local time before Athoug from Britain and owned by Emirati businessman Tariq Saeed Humaid Al-Tayer, who came second, and Shea Shea from South Africa.
