体坛英语新闻:Bremen's Aaron Hunt joins Wolfsburg
BERLIN, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Aaron Hunt joined Wolfsburg on a free transfer after 13 years at Werder Bremen, both clubs announced on Tuesday.
After 13 years with the "Werderaner", Aaron Hunt signed a contract with league rivals Wolfsburg until June 2017.
"We are pleased that Aaron Hunt has decided for Wolfsburg. Despite his 27 years, and his great experiences he already gained, he is a player who still can continue to develop his high level," Wolfsburg director of sport Klaus Allofs said.
Wolfsburg's new arrival made 215 Bundesliga games overall and scored 46 goals. He capped three times in the German national team and lifted the German Cup in 2009.
"Wolfsburg's offered me the great opportunities to continue playing at high level. I played a long time for Bremen but it was time to do something new. I am looking forward to my new teammates and to the challenges that are awaiting me in Wolfsburg," the 27- year-old attacking midfielder told the clubs official homepage.
The "Wolves" wrapped up a fifth place in the Bundesliga standings to ensure a UEFA Europa League berth for the upcoming season.
