BUENOS AIRES, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Argentina has a history of adverse results against the Netherlands, which it will face at the semi-final of the 2014 World Cup on Wednesday.

Argentina defeated the Netherlands only in the final of the 1978 Argentina World Cup, 3-1. They met four times in World Cups with Argentina losing twice.

Argentina lost 4-0 in the second round of the 1974 Germany World Cup, and 2-1 in the quarter-final of the 1998 France World Cup. In the 2006 Germany version, the teams drew 0-0 in the group stage.

Argentina and the Netherlands faced each other eight times internationally, with the Dutch recording four wins, three draws and one loss.
