PARIS, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Leonardo Jardim's nightmare continues as his Monaco side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Lyon in the sole Ligue 1 fifth round matchup on Friday.

The last season's runners-up scored an equalizer through 20- year-old Argentine forward Lucas Ocampos on 36 minutes, just six minutes after Nabil Fekir opened scoring for the hosts on the half- hour mark at Stade de Gerland.

Corentin Tolisso, however, stroke in the 73rd minute to seal the three points for Lyon with a creative team effort alongside with central back Samuel Umtiti. Monaco goalie Danijel Subasic dived to make a saving attempt, but came out helpless.

With the away defeat, Monaco, who saw star striker Radamel Falcao leave for Manchester United on loan on transfer deadline day, have piled just four points from five fixtures under new coach Leonardo Jardim, wandering just two positions shove the relegation zone.

And for their Lyon counterparts, Friday's victory saved them from three straight defeats after victorious opener. Anthony Lopes made a number of crucial saves to help Lyon ensure the win.

In the remaining nine matches of this weekend, the Ligue 1 round five will feature defending champions Paris Saint-Germain visiting Rennes on Saturday and last season's French Cup holders Guingamp hosting leaders Bordeaux on Sunday.
