PARIS, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo asked French President Francois Hollande here on Friday to respect the agenda as the capital city considers whether to bid for the 2024 Olympic Games.

"I want to tell you that nothing and nobody will change my agenda or method when it is concerned to Paris' bid for the Olympic Games," Hidalgo told a press conference on Friday.

Just on the night before, Hollande expressed his support to Paris if the city submits an application to host the 2024 Games.

"For the 2024 Olympic Games, I'm in favor of the city if Paris decides to put in a bid for the Games," he said at a prime-time television interview "Francois Hollande faces French people".

"We need big events," said Hollande, citing the climate conference in 2025 and the Euro 2016 soccer event.

Paris has not host the grand sports event since 1924 and the earlier edition held in this city was in 1900 when Olympic Games came as part of the World Expo.

It was in Hidalgo's hands, however, whether the City of Light bidding for another Olympic Games since they've beaten in previous three times (1992, 2008 and 2012).

She confirmed Friday that the decision on Paris' bid or not would be made in January.

"I'm asking for the respect of the ongoing collective work," she said, while the French Committee for International Sport (CFSI) will publish a study into the possibility of a bid.

"I'm also asking for the respect of the Parisians," added Hidalgo.
