体坛英语新闻：Bayern Munich sign Stuttgart youngster Kimmich

BERLIN, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich have signed German U-21 international Joshua Kimmich until June 2020, the German giants confirmed in an official statement on Friday.

The 19-year-old home-grown Stuttgart talent, who plays currently on loan at second division side RB Leipzig, will join the German record champions on July 2015 after inking a five year deal. Stuttgart and Bayern agreed to keep silence over further contract details.

Kimmich is a desired player of sporting director Matthias Sammer and coach Josep Guardiola. The defensive midfielder played already for Germany's U-17 and U-18 squads before he lifted the U-19 European Championship in the summer 2014.

Kimmich made overall 39 appearances and scored one goal for RB Leipzig. He earned his first call up for Germany's U-21 to make his debut against Ukraine in October.

Bayern Munich sit atop the Bundesliga standings with 45 points after the first half of the campaign. They have an 11-point advantage to runners up Wolfsburg and a 17-point advantage over third placed Bayer Leverkusen.
