LISBON, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Benfica beat Boavista 3-0 on Saturday in the 19th round of the Portuguese league at the Luz Stadium in capital Lisbon.

Brazilian forward Lima scored in the 23rd minute with a header following a pass by Uruguayan defender Maxi Pereira.

Maxi Pereira scored in the 33rd minute from outside the area with a left-footed effort.

Brazilian forward Jonas scored in the 55th with a great penalty shot, which went straight past Swiss goalkeeper Mika.

Benfica stands at the top of the Portuguese league with 49 points while Boavista stands 13th with 19 points.
