体坛英语新闻:Asian players win three titles at table tennis Hungary Open
BUDAPEST, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Asian table tennis players won three of the four titles at the GAC Group 2015 ITTF World Tour Hungary Open here on Sunday.
Jiang Tianyi of Chinese Hong Kong, beat South Korea's Jeong Sangeun 4-3 (11-4, 11-9, 11-3, 10-12, 5-11, 10-12, 11-3) to claim the men's singles title. Jiang was the second seed, while Jeong was the third, who overcame top seeded Chen Chien-An of Chinese Taipei 4-0 (11-7, 11-8, 11-5, 11-9) in the semifinal.
Japan's Misako Wakamiya, the No. 13 seed, defeated the third-seeded Lee Ho Ching from Chinese Hong Kong 4-2 (12-10, 11-9, 8-11, 11-8, 10-12, 16-14) to clinch the women's singles title.
Austria's Liu Jia failed to defend the title as she was beaten by Wakamiya in the quarterfinals.
South Korea's Jeong and Lee Sangsu, seeded seventh, beat the fourth-seeded Russian duo Viachaslev Burov and Alexey Liventsov 3-1 (8-11, 13-11, 11-6, 11-8) to secure the men's doubles title.
Austria's Sofia Polcanova and Amelie Solja, seeded sixth, beat the Chinese Hong Kong's duo Jiang Huajun and Li Ching Wan 3-1 (5-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-9) to win the women's doubles title.
The Chinese Hong Kong duo was not seeded, but Jiang Huajun has won five ITTF World Tour women's doubles title.
A total of 342 table tennis players from 48 countries and regions competed at the Hungary Open.
