BERLIN, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Schalke held 10-men Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw whereas Wolfsburg craved out a 1-1 tie against Frankfurt at the 19th round of the German Bundesliga on Tuesday.

Bayern wait for their first win since the restart of the second half of the season. 10-men Bayern shocked the visitors with the opener but Schalke's Benedikt Howedes restored parity to snatch one point on the road.

The hosts ensured the worst possible start against Schalke as Bayern's Jerome Boateng committed a professional foul to see a straight red card and to cause a penalty for the visitors with just 17 minutes into the game.

However, Schalke were unable to take advantage as Schalke's Eric Maxim Choupo Moting squandered the chance to open the scoring from the spot due to a weak effort on target, which was stopped by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Schalke remained harmless and passive against decimated Bayern who piled on the pressure to break the deadlock through Arjen Robben, who headed home a corner by Xabi Alonso at the 67th minute.

Nevertheless, it was a short-lived joy for the Bavarians as Schalke fought back to level the scores just five minutes later when Hoewedes nodded home a corner into the far post corner.

With the draw Bayern recorded their fourth draw of the season to remain atop the standings with 46 points while Schalke stay on fourth position with 31 points.

Wolfsburg were unable to build on their hammering 4-1 victory against Bayern as they shared the spoils with Frankfurt thanks to the late equalizer by Kevin De Bruyne.

Both sides lacked in precision in the first half yet things changed with the restart as Frankfurt's Stefan Aigner broke the deadlock at the 58th minute. The midfielder made use of Takashi Inui build up to slot home from 11 meters into the far post corner.

The "Wolves" lacked in ideas but their go-to player Kevin De Bruyne had an ace in the hole when he leveled the score following the square pass into the box by Marcel Schaefer with just two minutes remaining in the game.

Wolfsburg sit on the second place with 38 points meanwhile Frankfurt remain on ninth place with 24 points.

Elsewhere, Monchengladbach reaped their second narrow 1-0 win at the second game by courtesy of Patrick Herrmann's winner at the 23rd minute. Freiburg pressed for the equalizer but their efforts remained fruitless.

With the victory, third-placed Monchengladbach reduce the distance to second placed Wolfsburg to five points whilst Freiburg stay on the 14th place.

Hannover were unable to maintain their 1-0 lead as Mainz fought back at the second half when Elkin Soto cancelled out Jimmy Briand's opener to share the points.

The following fixtures are scheduled for Wednesday: last placed Dortmund face Augsburg, Hoffenheim see Bremen, Berlin host Leverkusen, newly promoted Cologne meet relegation threatened Stuttgart and newly promoted Paderborn encounter struggling Hamburg.
