体坛英语新闻:Man Utd join race for Brazilian striker - reports
RIO DE JANEIRO, Mar. 6 (Xinhua) -- Manchester United have joined the battle to sign Fluminense teenager Kenedy, according to reports in Brazil.
The Premier League club is willing to pay 5.7 million British pounds for the Brazilian striker during the next European summer transfer window, Lancenet said on Friday.
"They (United) intends to invest heavily in him and might even raise their offer," the sports news portal said.
Kenedy has also been linked to Spanish giants Barcelona, having impressed talent scouts during the South American Under-20 Championships in Uruguay earlier this year.
The 19-year-old has been compared to Brazil and Zenit Saint Petersburg forward Hulk for his upper-body strength and powerful shooting.
Kenedy joined Fluminense in 2013 and has made 24 appearances for the Rio de Janeiro outfit.
