体坛英语新闻:Scolari on radar of Chinese clubs
RIO DE JANEIRO, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's 2002 World Cup-winning manager Luiz Felipe Scolari could leave Gremio to coach in China, according to media reports.
Scolari has more than two years left on his Gremio contract but local news portal Uol said on Saturday that the Brazilian top-flight club could be willing to let the 66-year-old go.
The report followed a Twitter post from Brazilian journalist Joao Garcia, a close friend of Scolari, on Friday.
"The Chinese are chasing Felipao and have made multimillion-dollar proposals," Garcia said on the social media platform. "Win or lose the [Rio Grande do Sul] state championship, he will leave."
Scolari joined Gremio in August, just weeks after being sacked as Brazil coach following the the team's 7-1 World Cup semifinal defeat to Germany.
