体坛英语新闻:Bingham, Murphy to fight for world championship title
LONDON, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Stuart Bingham beat Judd Trump 17-16 in a thrilling semifinal clash to set up a final showdown with 2005 winner Shaun Murphy at the snooker world championship in Sheffield on Saturday.
The 38-year-old Bingham, who had previously never been past the last eight, led Trump 13-9 before the evening session but the 25-year-old Trump, the 2011 finalist, pulled it even at 16-16 with back-to-back century breaks of 108 and 129.
In the biggest frame of his career, Bingham, who defeated five-time champion Ronnie O'Sullivan in the quarterfinals, used all his experience to edge Trump in the decider.
"It's unbelievable, I cant believe I'm in the World final," said Bingham.
Earlier, Murphy, who also reached the final in 2009, overpowered the 2013 finalist Barry Hawkins 17-9.
"It's unbelievable, something I never thought I'd do again," said Murphy.
The final will be held on Sunday and Monday.
