PARIS, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt was forced out of the Diamond League meetings this weekend in Paris and next week in Laussane, Swizterland, due to leg injury, announced Tuesday the organizers of Meeting Areva.

The six-time Olympic champion has been suffering a leg injury since his last race in New York on June 13 when he felt discomfort in his left leg.

"I'm disappointed not to be able to compete in Paris and Lausanne," Bolt told the official website of the Paris meeting, slated for July 4 at the Stade de France in the suburb of the French capital city.

"I love running at these meetings but at the moment I am unable to compete at 100%. I look forward to getting back into full training as soon as possible," he said.

The Lausanne meeting is scheduled for July 9 ahead of the next European stop in Monaco in eight days.

Bolt clocked 20.29 seconds, more than a second off his world record of 19.19, in the 200m race in New York, which he described as a "really bad" one, "probably one of the worst turns I've ever had in my entire life."

The 28-year-old world record holder of 100m and 200m sprints, who has not completed a full season since 2013, was then kept out of action and failed to show up at the Jamaica trials last week.

Bolt recently visited Doctor Muller-Wohlfahrt in Munich who confirmed that he has a blocked sacroiliac joint which is restricting his movement and putting pressure on his knee and ankle.

He will spend the next couple of days in Munich getting treatment after which he will resume full training in his quest to defend his titles at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing at the end of August.

In 2013, the Jamaican won three golds at the Moscow world championships in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.
