LONDON, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Fourth seed Maria Sharapova of Russia advanced to the third round of Wimbledon by beating easily Richel Hogenkamp.

The 2004 champion eased past the Dutchwoman just 65 minutes 6-3, 6-1.

She will next play either Lesia Tsurenko or Irina-Camelia Begu in the third round.
