体坛英语新闻:Fraser-Pryce seeks slice of history in Rio
RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce revealed on Thursday she is in a relaxed state of mind as she prepares to become the first women to win three 100m gold medals at the Olympic Games.
The 28-year-old Jamaican will step up her Rio 2016 preparations by attempting to achieve the same feat at the world championships in Beijing this month.
"I feel mixed emotions when I remember my first Olympics (Beijing 2008)," Fraser-Pryce told Rio2016.com.
"I was not among the favorites to even win a medal there and yet I won the gold. Then at the London Olympics in 2012, as defending champion, were great expectations of me and I was still able to win the 100m gold medal. For the Rio 2016 Games, I hope that everything will be good and golden for me."
Fraser has already qualified for the 100m and 200m events in Rio while the Jamaican 4x100m team has also secured a berth in Brazil.
