体坛英语新闻:C.Ronaldo happy at Madrid after Champions League record goal haul
MADRID, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Cristiano Ronaldo scored four goals to set a new Champions League record of 11 in the group phase of the competition as his side brushed past a hapless Malmo 8-0 on Tuesday night.
Afterwards, Ronaldo insisted that he had no intention of leaving Real Madrid.
Speculation has been rife that this could be the last season the striker, who will be 31 in February, will with Madrid, with a return to Manchester United or a move to Paris Saint Germain possible destinations.
However, speaking after Tuesday's game, Ronaldo insisted he was content where he is right now.
"It's just speculation and it happens every year, but this club has helped me a lot since I arrived and I am very happy here," he said.
Ronaldo also explained a conversation he had with PSG coach Laurent Blanc after their game in the Bernabeu.
"That was normal, if someone treats you well then you speak to them. If someone from Chelsea, Manchester or Barcelona is friendly, then I will speak to them as well. It doesn't mean anything. I have a contract with Real Madrid and I will stay here," he continued.
Ronaldo's form has been questioned this season as he has looked less mobile on the pitch.
"It's my seventh season here and I am used to knowing how things go here. I can't spend all day worrying about what other people think about me. I try and do my job and I have a clean conscience," insisted Ronaldo, who also brushed off doubts over Real Madrid's form this season.
"It's normal in a club such as Real Madrid that there is criticism when things don' t go well, but we have improved and won five consecutive games, which is a good run," he said.??
