SYDNEY, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- An Australian teenager is making her third attempt at scaling the world's tallest mountain in a bid to become the youngest Australian to summit Mount Qomolangma, but it will be her youngest brother on top of the world.

Queensland teenager Alyssa Azar will depart for Nepal next month and begin her two-month climb in April, her third attempt after her bid in 2014 was cancelled due to an avalanche while the 2015 Nepal earthquake also detailed her ambition.

Azar has already trekked the Andes, scaled Mount Kilimanjaro at age 14 and is the youngest Australian to climb Ama Dablam.

"Who knows what's really going to happen on Everest (Mt. Qomolangma) but I think it's not something I'd want to quit on anyway," Azar told local media on Thursday, adding people have been dismissive of her attempt due to her age.

"For me this is just something I'm 100 percent committed to."

The teenager is also taking along a photo of her 12-year-old autistic brother Christian, who also has a mental disability, to the summit.

"He doesn't have the same opportunities that I have so it's something I'd really like to do," Azar said.
