体坛英语新闻：Barros Schelotto wants to take Boca "to the top"

BUENOS AIRES, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Guillermo Barros Schelotto was introduced on Wednesday as the new coach for Argentinian soccer team Boca Juniors and he announced he wants to take the club "to the top."

The 42-year-old coach confirmed he will manage his first match with the team on Thursday against Racing Club in La Bombonera Stadium. The match is the second fixture in the Copa Libertadores de America group stages.

Barros Schelotto's next match will take place on Sunday in Monumental Stadium against Boca's biggest rivals, River Plate, in the local league.

"Soon we will try to give the team the things we want and take them to the top," said the former forward who played for the club for 10 years.

Barros Schelotto, one of Boca fans' last idols, said there was little time to develop his ideas before the upcoming matches as they are so close. However, things will change as the matches go on.

When and what position the star-player Carlos Tevez would play, the coach replied "up front."

"It is in this areas that he (Tevez) has made a difference. He can play more or less up front but this is the position for him," said Barros Schelotto.

The coach said he was very excited to be returning to Boca.

"It is great but we should keep our feet on the ground and think about what is coming," added Barros Schelotto.

Barros Schelotto's brother Gustavo will work as his assistant.
