体坛英语新闻:Russian and Belarusian athletes achieve high results at FIG World Cup in Baku

BAKU, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Russian men gymnasts Nikita Fedorenko and Dmitry Ushakov grabbed gold in synchronized pairs' event at the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in Baku having scored 49.900 points in finals, TREND news agency said Sunday.

The silver medal went to the Belarusian pair Uladzislau Hancharou and Mikalai Kazak with 49.800 points. Diogo Ganchinho and Diogo Abreu from Portugal won bronze medal by scoring 48.600 points.

Azerbaijani men gymnasts Dmitry Fedorovskiy and Ruslan Aghamirov scored 47.400 points and became fourth in the finals.

Belarusian gymnasts Tatsiana Piatrenia and Hanna Harchonak captured the gold medal in synchronized pairs among women. In individual events Hanna Harchonak grabbed gold medal having scored 54.810 points in the finals. Tatsiana Piatrenia won silver with 54.715 points.

Ukrainian pair Nataliia Moskvina and Maryna Kyiko won silver medal, while the bronze medal went to Russian women gymnasts Yana Pavlova and Victoria Voronina.

Award ceremony was held March 6 at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. Polish gymnast Artur Zakrzewski among men and Russian Victoria Voronina among women have been awarded a special prize of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, AGF Trophy, for the best performance and the highest score.

FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics kicked off in Baku on March 5 bringing together some 77 athletes representing 17 countries and featuring 46 men and 31 women athletes competing in men's and women's individual trampoline and synchronized trampoline competitions.
