体坛英语新闻:Olympiacos seek for first win against Barcelona
ATHENS, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Greek host Olympiacos were seeking for their first victory when they face Barcelona in Tuesday's Champions League match at Georgios Karaiskakis stadium.
"I am eager for tomorrow's game as a game. It is a very important encounter for us. We have the possibility to secure our qualification and certainly it is also very important for Olympiacos," Barcelona's head coach Ernesto Valverde said after Monday's training.
Barcelona lead Group D with nine points after three rounds, followed by Juventus with 6 and Sporting Clube de Portugal on 3.
"Our philosophy and our approach towards such a team, I think, generally, cannot change dramatically," said Takis Lemonis, head coach of the winless Olympiacos, who lost 3-1 to Barcelona in last encounter,
"In particular this team, I believe, is not affected when playing at home or away. I believe that even if they had secured 100 percent their qualification in the next round they would play the same football," the Greek coach said.
"We want to qualify in the next round and if possible to do so as leaders of this group, but the most significant thing is to qualify and that is why we want to win tomorrow's game and continue the very good course we had so far and have many possibilities for the future," Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu added.
