The Wang sisters racked up a match-best score of 92.5667 points to earn China its only gold in the French capital. China had won two silvers and one bronze in two previous competition days.

In Duet Mixed Free final, Aleksandr Maltsev and Mayya Gurbanberdieva handed Russia its second gold of the day after overshadowing Italian Manila Flamini and Giorgio Minisini, the Duet Mixed Technical champions a day earlier. Japanese duo of Abe Atsushi and Adachi Yumi also stood on the podium.

Chinese promising swimmers Zhang Yiyao and Shi Haoyu, both under 18, sat last among the five teams.

Ukraine followed Russia with three golds after adding another in Highlights Routine with 91.6667 points, bettering the score of hosts France and Israel.

China and Italy took away the remaining two titles of the competition.
