体坛英语新闻:Massive health facilities prepared for Asian Games
JAKARTA, April 2 (Xinhua) -- A total of 1,400 doctors and medical personnel have been prepared to assist the Asian Games this year in Indonesia, an Indonesian minister disclosed here on Monday.
Health Minister Nila Moeloek revealed that a total of 21 hospitals, 98 medical stations, 21 medical centers, 2 health clinics and 25 ambulances are prepared to support the success of the regional sport event in the country.
She said that the number of hospital and ambulance could rise if the demand for the facilities increases.
All the facilities and health personnel were prepared by the ministry and committee of the Games.
"The doctors and facilities will be provided in four provinces in the country," she said.
The 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be held in Indonesian capital of Jakarta and Palembang city, the provincial capital of South Sumatra province and two other supported provinces from August 18 to September 2.
A total of about 11,000 athletes and officials from 45 countries and regions will come into Jakarta and Palembang city to participate in the 18th Asian Games.
The athletes will compete in 40 sports during the sport event, according to the committee.
