体坛英语新闻:Spain's Che wins the first Roland-Garros eSeries
PARIS, May 25 (Xinhua) -- The Roland-Garros eSeries by BNP Paribas has crowned its first champion as Spain's Carlos Che defeated Italy's Lorenzo Cioffi 6-1 here on Friday.
Eight winners of qualifying phases, which were held from March to May in Belgium, Brazil, China, France, India, Italy, Spain and Britain, faced off in the final in Paris.
After claiming victory in the inaugural Grand Slam eTennis tournament, Che was handed a trophy at a ceremony by the French Tennis Federation (FFT) President Bernard Giudicelli and Norman Chatrier, professional eSport player and Roland-Garros eSport ambassador, also the grandson of former FFT president Philippe Chatrier.
Players battled it out on Tennis World Tour, a brand-new video game released by Bigben on May 22.
