体坛英语新闻:Indonesian racer wins second stage at Tour de Banyuwangi
JAKARTA, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian cyclist Jamalidin Nouvardianto arrived at finish with the fastest way in the second stage of the tour de Banyuwangi-Ijen in East Java province on Thursday.
Nouvardianto from PGN Road Cycling team enter the finish before Georgios Bouglas from Nigxia Sport Livall Cycling Team from China, a local media reported.
The third place was posted by van Aert Bernarnd Benyamin from Java Partizan Pra Cycling Team from Serbia.
The Indonesian cyclist said that his teammates had encouraged him to move faster from the group since the 500 meters before the finish.
"And when it was 200 meters away to go to the finish I added speed and finally entered the finish first," he said.
The second lap was a flat route which began from Kalibaru station and finish outside the Banyuwangi district administration's office with a total distance of 179.3km, according to the head of the district Abdullah Azwar.
A total of 19 teams, comprising 15 from overseas and four from domestic are competing in the Tour de Banyuwangi Ijen with a total distance of 599km, the official said.
The race offers a 872,483 U.S. dollar prizes in total, according to the committee.
