体坛英语新闻:Brazil World Cup winner Coutinho dies
RIO DE JANEIRO, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian football great Coutinho, who formed a formidable attacking partnership with Pele for Santos in the 1960s, has died at the age of 75.
Coutinho, whose given name was Antonio Wilson Vieira Honorio, died at his home on Monday. The cause of his death was not confirmed.
"In this moment of immense sadness, what will remind us eternally of Coutinho are his glories, goals and remarkable stories," Santos said in a statement.
Having made his senior debut for Santos in 1958 at the age of 14, Coutinho was part of the Brazil squad that won the 1962 World Cup in Chile.
He scored 370 goals in 457 appearances for Santos, winning five Brazil Cups, two Copa Libertadores titles and two Interncontinental Cups.
