体坛英语新闻:Argentina 1986 World Cup winning member Tata dies at 62
BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Argentine soccer legend Jose Luis Brown, known as Tata, died at an age of 62 after a long battle with Alzheimer's, said the 1986 World Cup winning defender's former club on Tuesday.
"Maximum day of sadness for the Albirroja (nickname of the club) family," the Argentine club Estudiantes de La Plata tweeted. "Our gladiator Jose Luis Brown has left."
"But his memory and love of the club will never depart," it added.
Brown, whose playing career included spells in Spain and France, made 36 appearances for Argentina and scored the first goal in their 3-2 World Cup final victory over West Germany in 1986.
He coached the national under-23 squad after retiring as a player, and led the team along with Sergio Batista to win the 2008 Olympics with Lionel Messi, Juan Roan Riquelme and Sergio Aguero being fielded.
