体坛英语新闻:Colombia, Belarus win golds of total at weightlifting worlds

PATTAYA, Thailand, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships continued with the women's 81kg and men's 102kg competitions here on Wednesday, with athletes from Colombia and Belarus winning gold medals of total.

In the women's 81kg category, Lee Jie-un of South Korea made all three good lifts in the competition of snatch and won the gold medal on 111kg. Her teammate Kim Su-hyeon made a good lift of the same weight at the third attempt, winning the silver. Ankhtsetseg Munkhjantsan of Mongolia took the bronze of snatch on 110kg.

During the competition of clean and jerk, Leidy Arboleda of Colombia did not face threats from the others and won the gold on 142kg. Jenny Arthur of the United States, after failing at the first attempt, took the silver of clean and jerk on 139kg. The bronze went to Spain's Lidia Perez on 138kg.

Arboleda finally won the gold of total on 247kg while Perez took the silver on 246kg. Arthur won the bronze with 245kg.

In the men's 102kg category, Jin Yun-seong of South Korea won the gold of snatch on 181kg at the second attempt. Yauheni Tsikhantsou of Belarus also failed at the last attempt and took the silver with 180kg, while Armenia's Samvel Gasparyan took the bronze of snatch on 178kg.

In clean and jerk, Reza Dehdar of Iran won the gold medal by making a good lift of 219kg at the third attempt. Tsikhantsou failed at his first attempt and took the silver on 218kg. Dmytro Chumak of Ukraine won the bronze of clean and jerk on 217kg.

Tsikhantsou, with a result of 398kg, won the gold medal of total in the men's 102kg division. Jin took the silver on 397kg while the bronze went to Dehdar on 394kg.

The 10-day championships, running through September 27, also serves as qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which do not include the women's 81kg and men's 102kg categories.
