体坛英语新闻:Indonesia vows to secure at least two titles in boxing at 2019 SEA Games
JAKARTA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian Boxing Association is certain that the country's fighters will obtain at least two gold medals at the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games scheduled to be held at the end of this year in the Philippines, a coach said on Saturday.
The association's coach Hermansen Ballo set the target based on the latest performances of the nine boxers who will fight in the Games.
Ballo claimed that all the fighters have weathered many international experiences and had frequently taken part in several international tournaments.
"They are experienced fighters, we hope they could show great performances in the games," he said in East Nusa Tenggara province's capital of Kupang, Indonesia, adding that all the nine fighters have undergone several tryout bouts.
"Our target is very rational at the SEA Games. We only eye at least two golds during the multi-sport event," Ballo said.
"Based on the tests, the boxers show extraordinary results. They are ready for vying. Now it depends on how they will apply their strategy and techniques during the Games," Ballo added.
The coach said that the Indonesian boxing squad will depart for the Philippines on November 28, local media reported.
The 30th SEA Games is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 11 in the Philippines.
