国际英语新闻:Greeks angry with politicians for economic crisis as PM points finger at U.S. banks
ATHENS, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Nine out of 10 Greeks expressed anger with the country's politicians for the acute economic crisis, according to an opinion poll published on Sunday, as Prime Minister George Papandreou pointed finger at U.S. banks for their role.
Furthermore, 93 percent of the Greeks asked in the survey conducted for the newspaper "Proto Thema" called for the imprisonment of politicians embroiled in corruption scandals.
The lack of trust of the Greek people in politicians was also reflected in another poll published on Sunday's "Ethnos" daily.

Nearly half of the interviewees predicted that the government could not end its four-year term and 87.8 percent said that the austerity measures and reforms introduced add unfairly more burdens to low and middle income families.
According to a third poll in the daily "Kathimerini," 61 percent of citizens fear for a worse future due to the crisis and the measures, while the support for the government has fallen to 20 percent.
