国际英语新闻:Hamas: UN to supervise delivery, distribution of seized flotilla aid
GAZA, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Israel will release all of the aid flotilla goods it seized last month, and the United Nations will take care of the cargo delivery and distribution in Gaza, an official from Hamas government said Wednesday.
Israel attacked a Gaza-bound aid flotilla on May 31 in the Mediterranean, killed nine activists onboard and seized tons of the supplies carried on the ships for the bottled-up Hamas-ruled coastal enclave.
"The UN will take responsibility for the delivery of the aid cargo," Ahmed Yousef, an aide to Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haneya, told Xinhua.
Some other international aid relief organizations will join the UN in the distribution process, he added.
In the wake of the attack, Hamas said Israel can send the shipments to Gaza when it frees all the pro-Palestinian activists and when there are guarantees that all the supplies would be allowed in, especially iron and cement and prefabricated houses.

Yousef also said that "the flow of aid ships will continue unabated," revealing that international activists are preparing a new aid flotilla for Gaza.
"The ships will not stop until the siege is totally broken," he said.
The Gaza Strip has been placed under a tight sea and land blockade since Hamas, described as a terror group by the West, grabbed hold of the territory violently in 2007.
