国际英语新闻:Eurozone construction output drops slightly in April
BRUSSELS, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Construction output in the Eurozone fell by 0.3 percent in April after an increase of 6.5 percent in March, the European Union (EU)'s statistical bureau Eurostat said on Thursday.
Year on year, output in April dropped by 6.1 percent in the 16- nation bloc.
In the 27-nation EU, construction output remained stable in April compared with the previous month and declined by 4.3 percent compared with the same month last year.
Among the member states for which data are available, construction output fell in eight, rose in five and remained unchanged in the Netherlands. The largest decreases were registered in Hungary and Spain, which decreased by 8.1 percent and 4.9 percent respectively. The Slovakia saw the highest increases of 9 percent.
Germany, the largest economy in the Eurozone, gained 2.6 percent on monthly basis.
