国际英语新闻:Former Greek FM paves way for new political party
ATHENS, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Former Greek foreign minister Dora Bakogiannis launched on Monday in Athens a forum for open political dialogue, which according to local analysts has paved the way for the creation of a new political party possibly this autumn.
Amidst an economic crisis that has hit Greece hard this year, one in two Greek voters voice frustration toward current political parties in recent opinion polls, blaming them for leading the country to the brink of bankruptcy.
In this framework, Bakogiannis, an independent deputy in the Greek parliament, called on Greeks to join the open discussion in search of ways to build a better future for Greece.

"Two months after the activation of the financial support mechanism of the European Union and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for Greece, the country is still short of a clear vision, as inefficiency and waste of time undermine the hard effort of survival and rebirth," Bakogiannis said while launching her campaign through the Internet.
But there are solutions that active citizens united can promote based on common sense and new ideas, she added, during a first meeting with 50 representatives of the academic, business and cultural circles of Greece who support the forum.
The 110-billion-euro (138.5 billion U.S. dollars) EU-IMF safety net created the basis so that Greece can evade a default, Bakogiannis stressed, supporting her choice to vote for the deal in parliament along deputies of the ruling socialist PASOK party.
