CARDIFF, Britain, March 6 (Xinhua) -- British Prime Minister David Cameron pledged on Sunday to back small business and boost enterprise and declared "a war on the enemies of enterprise".

In his closing speech at the Conservative Party's Spring Forum held in Cardiff, Wales, Cameron said that the British government will be on the side of everyone who wants to create jobs, wealth and opportunity in the country.

"I know there's an enterprise culture in this country. I know we've got the people, the ideas, the talent, the energy to make things great. I'm going to make sure this government does everything it takes," he said.

He also said that "enterprise is not just about markets -- it's about morals too," adding "We understand that enterprise is not just an economic good, it's a social good."

To ensure more loan flowing into businesses to help their growing, Cameron said that many businesses are finding it hard to get credit from banks that are present in Britain and the government will ensure to get "another 10 billion pounds for small businesses from the banks."

"I'm going to watch those banks like a hawk and make sure they deliver for Britain's small business men and women," he said.

There is no new policy announcements in the British prime minister's speech but he attempted to set the scene for the new government budget to be made public on March 23.

He stressed that "The Budget in a few weeks time will tear down the barriers to enterprise and be the most pro-growth Budget this country has seen for generations."

British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne also said on Saturday that the British government is to announce new enterprise zones in England and vowed to get Britain's economy growing again.

The British government is under pressure to come up with new economic policies to spur the staggering economic recovery. British economy started its recovery from the end of 2009 after a downturn of six quarters in a row but it declined in the fourth quarter of 2010 after increasing for four quarters. The British government led by the Conservatives is trying to get the British economy moving.
