国际英语新闻:Greek socialist, Left leaders call for unity government to review bailout deals after polls
The plan also called for a new dialogue over the needed structural reforms, a new socially just taxation system and an updated investment and growth program.
In another press conference on Sunday Democratic Left party leader Fotis Kouvelis outlined a similar seven-point plan for the formation of a "progressive unity government."
"Greek people can not afford further tough austerity measures... The renegotiation of the memorandum is realistic," he said.
Rejecting the idea of an annulment of deals that could lead Greece to default and an exit from the eurozone with no further multi-billion euro rescue loans from creditors, he called for a "gradual disengagement through negotiations by 2017."
Stressing his party's willingness to support all efforts for the formation of a unity government so that the country will not be left ungoverned, Kouvelis proposed the extension of the fiscal adjustment period, the review of agricultural development policies, the strengthening of the social security system and the support of low- income workers, pensioners and unemployed.
In addition, he suggested a five-year moratorium with neighbor Turkey regarding defence expenses.
